Must I Wear Sensible Shoes?
If you are a mom, you’re probably a little older and wiser by now and know to avoid those 4-inch stilettos that are so bad for your feet and your back.

But must you settle for boring, sensible shoes?

Not necessarily. There are lots of options out there that are feminine, flattering and yet comfortable enough to wear, even when you’re out and about with the kids.
A good option if you like the look of heels, but not the wobbly feeling, is wedges.

Shoes from Zappos
Wedges give you the same height as high heels and have the same elongating effect on your legs, but are generally more comfortable than traditional heels. If you keep the wedge height at around 3-3.5 inches and maybe throw in a modest 0.5-1 inch platform, you won’t just look great - you’ll even be able to walk!
My favorite online shoe store is Zappos - they offer great selection and impeccable service, although price-wise, in many cases, you could do better elsewhere. For a cute spring look, try these wedges by Nine West.

Those pink shoes that you suggest look very uncomfortable.

are guys allowed to comment here? I don’t like to see girls on high heels. They look stupid when they can’t walk.

[…] I felt sorry for the girl for being laughed at, and for the men for thinking it was okay to publicly humiliate another person. But most of all, I wanted to announce to the world (or at least to my small readership): if the shoes are pretty and make your legs look nice, but you can’t walk in them, it is not a good idea to buy them. Being able to walk is more important than looking pretty. As one of my commenters wisely observed a few days ago, you don’t look very attractive when you try too hard. […]
