Best Shot Monday: My Roses Are Blooming!
Spring and early summer are my favorite time of year, because my garden fills with beautiful, blooming, colorful roses.
I am NOT a very cheerful person by nature, but these days,
whenever I step out into the yard, I can’t help but smile.
And they smell so good!
My favorite flower, ever since I was a little child: yellow roses.

Those are beautiful! I couldn’t help but smile if my yard had those beautiful roses too.

Great job on those gorgeous blooms. I read that if you plant chives around them, the roses won’t get pests and diseases. My favorite here is the pink and white… we had something like that for our wedding. Great memory.

Vered–Wait, did you just say that your not very cheerful by nature? You could’ve fooled me. Your posts are full of cheer. Anyway, the roses are great.

@ Zan: shhh… don’t tell anyone, but it’s the very capable gardener who does this magic, year after year.
@ Susiej: thanks for the tip!
@ Chris: I actually tend to be on the whiny side. But I am working on it.

That top picture is gorgeous, we have a big wild rose bush in the back yard blomming right now, but I missed the “new bloom” photo moment.

I’m a notoriously terrible gardener, but I dream of having a lovely yard. Meanwhile, the sweet little rose bush I bought a few years ago finally bit the dust . . . I think roses in particular are not a good choice for me, but they are so beautiful! I’m jealous.

@ Ann: “I’m a notoriously terrible gardener” - me too, hence the hired gardener.

I love roses too! I live in an apartment but I have a flower ledge where I have a pot with white roses; I always get excited when they bloom. I also have other flowers that bloom all year (they’re called chavelitas in Spanish), and they make me happy every time I look at them. Your roses are beautiful, you must really have a green thumb.

Gorgeous photos of your roses. I have to thank our gardeners for our blooming garden. We have roses up the yin-yang and the girls’ preschool teachers are the main beneficiaries of such beauties. What a great idea for a post. Think I’ll post some of mine on my blog.

@ Marelisa: White roses are my second favorite flower.
@ MommyTwinGirls: I think you should!

These are lovely roses, very nice. I love roses too. I used to have lots of them while we were living in Holland!
- you’re going to Barcelona, you are totally gonna love it there! I’ll post some more photos of Gaudi architectures in my blog so you can have a preview. And of course don’t forget to try the real paellla. Hmmmm…so lekker!

My roses are only about 6 inches high red little things right now. The trials of living in zone 5.
