I can see the entertainment value in both, just not for me. I could enjoy some TV (House and Dr Who come to mind), but as I keep multiple books going at a time (I'm currently reading 6 and listening to one), plus all my blog/news reading, plus my own writing (blogging and fiction)... TV holds little charm for me. Now I've been dreaming of a Netflix subscription for ages, because I DO like to watch movies. The hang-up there is that (aside from being not in the budget) with 3 kids they always have the DVD players occupied. My wife and 11 year old son are huge fans of just about any reality TV that comes down the pipe and I have very little stomach for any of it so... I watch/listen to podcasts and audiobooks for my non-reading entertainment.
