It is erratic.

It contains a strange mix of topics.

It has its share of fluff material.

It is highly personal.

Powerful Men, Half-Naked Women (Best Shot Monday)

Posted July 27th, 2008 by MomGrind

women in magazines

On this week’s Best Shot Monday, Tracey asks “what have you been reflecting on this week?”. Here’s my answer:

I was standing at the duty free store in San Francisco International Airport, looking for books and snacks. We had a couple of hours to kill at the airport (ah, the glamour of air travel). When I noticed that my daughters were staring at a large display of magazines, I looked up to see the display too. What I saw made me so MAD that I had to share it with you.

Being A Lawyer Was Sucking The Life Out Of Me

A Lawyer Walks Into A Bar

Hank of My Investing Blog tagged me for the “life gave me some lemons. It’s OK, I made delicious lemonade” meme.

I will start by saying that sadly, my personality is such that life mostly gives me delicious lemonade, yet I often manage to turn it into lemons with my whiny attitude.

I published a guest post over at Zen Habits: How To Be A Great Mom – 12 Awesome Tips.

Needless to say, I am excited, but since Leo usually doesn’t moderate his comments, I’m also a little scared of his trolls.

Best Shot Monday: A Taste Of Barcelona

Posted July 20th, 2008 by MomGrind

Lamb Heads in Barcelona market

This photo of lamb heads, taken at Barcelona’s outdoor market Mercat De La Boqueria, might be gross, but Barcelona was TASTY. If you ever go there, and are into food at all, you HAVE to try Comerc24. It’s a fabulous chef restaurant. I won’t bore you with the details. Let’s just say that Ido and I are big foodies and ate in plenty of fabulous restaurants, including 3 Michelin stars restaurants in Paris, yet found this to be SO GOOD that we came back the next day. If you go, trust the chef and order the tasting menu. It is full of surprises - in a good way.

See this photo?

That’s me, last week, at Park Guell, in BARCELONA.

Yup, I just spent three weeks visiting family in Israel, and taking advantage of Israel’s proximity to Europe for a short yet fabulous trip to Barcelona.
